Abstract
VIABLE, Turkish-Hungarian R&D cooperation, is centred around understanding and demonstrating how advanced manufacturing technologies can be used to enable the implementation of circularity and ultimately scale up the recirculation of resources in high impact industrial sectors. The project focuses on the development and pilot-scale production of bio-based, biodegradable gloves for use in assembly, manufacturing and construction, which among others, furthers the adoption of circular economy and thus increases the competitiveness and sustainability of European industry. Thus, VIABLE allows resource consumption across the value chain through the optimisation of resource flows and recirculation of materials used for the production of gloves. The green, advanced manufacturing of gloves in the project is a manifestation of a novel circular business model for waste reductions, increase of resource security, supply chain resilience and industry competitiveness.
