Abstract
COMACH project answers the needs of composite part manufacturers and the call of the SMART Eureka cluster for innovation in the Advanced Manufacturing Key Enabling Technology to increase the competitiveness of the industry by proposing the development of a cost-effective and flexible robotic solution for the machining of composite parts, including an internal dust suction system for improved health and safety conditions, reduced energy consumption, increased precision and continuous cloud-based process monitoring for right the first time machining. The project will move the key technologies from current TRL 6 to TRL 8, beginning with a specifications phase, followed by technology development and culminated in an integration and demonstration phase, including the machining of real composite parts from the aerospace sector. The whole project will be wrapped up by a business plan development activity in order to successfully take to the market the project results.
