The REPMABE project aims to develop advanced predictive methodologies for elastomeric components in automotive applications, replacing costly physical prototyping with reliable virtual simulations. By focusing on material characterisation, fatigue life prediction and aging effects, the project seeks to enhance efficiency and sustainability in component development.
This project aligns with SMART EUREKA’s key application area of automotive and addresses two technical domains: ‘Digital, Virtual and Efficient Companies’ and ‘Sustainable Manufacturing’, by developing advanced virtual simulation tools that enhance efficiency and reduce prototyping costs, while promoting the use of sustainable materials and processes in automotive component manufacturing.
The consortium, comprising CIKAUTXO as leader, ENDURICA and TOFAŞ as project partners and the research technological centres LEARTIKER and CIKATEK as subcontracting, leverages their complementary expertise to achieve these goals.
CIKAUTXO brings extensive knowledge in elastomeric components, ensuring practical, industry-relevant solutions. ENDURICA provides advanced simulation tools and methodologies, forming the technological backbone for predictive models. TOFAŞ will help in specifications definition, fatigue modelling, CAE development, validation & correlation and material model implementation in characterization and results validation by real use cases, and also will contribute to material characterisation, testing and modelling support activities. LEARTIKER offers research capabilities in polymeric materials, integrating the latest scientific advancements into the project. Together, they ensure significant technological advancements and industry impact, driving innovation and sustainability in the development of automotive sector. elastomeric components.
