Abstract
Rubber injection molding is a vital process in the automotive industry, yet it faces significant challenges due to manual interventions and material variability. Currently, the reliance on manual application of release agents and reactive parameter adjustments leads to inconsistent quality; errors are often detected only after scrap is generated, causing costly downtime and mold cleaning cycles. This project proposes a two-fold innovation to achieve a zero-defect manufacturing paradigm. First, the mold will be transformed into an IoT-integrated smart device, utilizing real-time sensor data and an AI-driven predictive model to autonomously adjust machine parameters before defects occur. Second, an innovative surface coating will be developed to permanently eliminate the need for chemical release agents. This integrated approach not only prevents rubber-to-mold adhesion and minimizes waste but also enhances operator safety by removing chemical exposure. Ultimately, the project aims to streamline production, reduce environmental impact, and ensure rapid response to customer demands through advanced proactive control and surface engineering.
